Student Accessibility and Support Services presents a yearlong awareness campaign, Disability = Diversity, in collaboration with many campus partners including the Center for Innovative Pedagogy and the Departments of English and History.
Look out for related events and initiatives throughout the 2022-23 academic year, and contact wisee@kenyon.edu with any questions. Potential initiatives include:
- September Poster Event: disability equals diversity posters will be displayed across campus; sponsored by SASS, Human Resources, the Career Development Office and the Office for Civil Rights.
- October 11, 2022, at 11:10 a.m. Living and Working with a Disability: Ohioans with Disabilities, SASS, and the Career Development Office will offer a talk about disabilities in the workplace for National Disability Employment Awareness Month for students, staff, and faculty.
- January 24, 2023, 11:10 a.m. Margaret Price, associate professor and director of the Disability Studies Program at Ohio State University will give a campus-wide talk, Mental Disability in the Classroom: Reimaging Access and Design, sponsored by SASS, the Center for Innovative Pedagogy, and the Cox Health and Counseling Center. - February 2023: From Where I Sit, an exploration of campus barriers and access in collaboration with the Gund Gallery (spring 2023).
