About Presidential Statements

Kenyon is an educational institution, first and foremost, and the free exchange of ideas is integral to our mission. In times of collective conversation about regional, national or global events, we believe that our most important responsibility is to educate and to create the conditions for students and other members of the Kenyon community to consider multiple viewpoints and then cultivate their own informed views. For this reason, it is rare that Kenyon as an institution, or the president on behalf of the College, will take a public position, no matter how strongly we may feel personally.
