Event Advertising

Student organizations should submit all events on KCon. This will also allow groups to post to a central event location. Any events approved and posted in KCon will be sent to all students via Student Engagement every morning. Organizations are also encouraged to use the Community Feed on KCon for event promotion as well.

Messages submitted to student-info@kenyon.edu will be monitored throughout the business day, normally Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Any messages sent past these designated times will be reviewed the following business day.

PLEASE NOTE: Student-info is not monitored on the weekend or when the College is closed.

Your message may be denied if:

  • The content is no longer date/time relevant
  • It is a reply to previously sent student-info message
Please see the moderation guidelines for more information.

Kenyon College Student Organization Weather Policy

Student organization events at Kenyon College are subject to cancellation or rescheduling in the event of severe weather or other emergency related conditions.

  • During a Level 1 Knox County Snow Emergency, events may proceed only if the projected temperature remains consistently above 10°F (accounting for wind chills).
  • During a Level 2 or Level 3 Knox County Snow Emergency, all student organizations events are immediately canceled.
  • In the case of a sustained campus-wide or localized power outage, all events will be canceled.
If severe weather causes damage to campus infrastructure, facilities, or disrupts campus operations—such as debris, flooding, or other hazards—events may be postponed or canceled.
  • Other Severe Weather Warnings (e.g., tornado) or campus emergencies may lead to event cancellations at the discretion of the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) and Campus Safety.

In a situation where an event is canceled due to weather or other emergency causes, OSE will work with student organizations to reschedule.

Failure to abide by the policy above may result in individual or group sanctions.

For any questions or concerns regarding this policy, student organizations should contact the Office of Student Engagement.
