Room Capacity
Traditional residence halls have a capacity of 4 to 14 depending on whether the room is a single, double, or triple occupancy. The following formula can be used to determine the exact permitted occupancy of a given room. Square footage of the room/space divided by 15. This would represent an empty room/space and not take into account furniture and built-in structures (such as kitchen islands). These factors would reduce the permitted occupancy.
Apartments have a capacity of 20 in common spaces. This applies only to the first floor. All other floors in apartments are not considered common areas.
