The Kenyon College Bookstore is owned and operated by the College. Any profits generated by its operation are channeled into scholarship funds. The bookstore offers a wide variety of services and materials not ordinarily associated with books. Recommendations for extensions and improvements in its service to the community are welcome at any time.

The bookstore textbook department is located in the back room, on the main floor of the store. The textbook manager is responsible for processing the faculty orders for books to be used in courses. In order to avert problems of availability, faculty members are urged to complete, in a timely way, the textbook order forms sent by the manager. The textbook manager may be reached by email at bookstore@kenyon.edu.

Printing Services

Kenyon has partnered with the Staples franchise in Heath, Ohio, to accommodate the specialty printing needs previously handled by the on-campus print shop.

Printing services can be fulfilled at the Heath Staples and shipped to Gambier with seven days’ notice. Same-day orders will need to be completed at the Heath location and picked up. Depending on the time of day and size of the order, most walk-in orders can be completed while customers wait or within the same day. If the Heath Staples is extremely busy, a walk-in order might not be complete until the next day. Customers can submit orders electronically on the website or in person, and should receive an estimated time frame upon submitting the order.

Please contact the Staples print and marketing department at 740-522-5230 to learn more about Staples’ services, discuss specific printing needs, or address file formatting questions.

Placing Print Orders with Staples

You have several options:

  • Deliver digital files on a flash drive to the Staples franchise in Mount Vernon. This is especially good for large design files.

  • Upload digital files to staples@printme.com. Then call the store at 740-522-5230 to confirm the details of your order.

  • Use design templates available on design.staples.com to create customized postcards, posters, invitations and other products.

  • Print basic documents using documents.staples.com.

Mail Services

Interoffice and USPS mail and packages are delivered to and picked up from most academic and administrative offices once a week; the accounting office and the library receive daily deliveries. All overnight mail is delivered on the day it is received.

Inter-campus mail must be a College-related paper item or document that fits into an envelope. Boxes, as well as items made of wood or metal, cannot be sent through inter-campus mail. To schedule moves of large items, contact the Maintenance Department. For successful deliveries, please use FULL NAMES and LOCATIONS on campus envelopes.

Employees may take more urgent items directly to the Gambier Post Office and use their Kenyon purchasing card for payment.

Should your office/department be closed for any reason, all mail will be held in the Mail Center until notified. The Mail Service will not be responsible for unlocking and securing building doors when closed.

The Mail Service is never permitted to process personal mail.

The Mail Service will not be responsible for returning books to the library.

The mission of the Cox Health and Counseling Center is to provide services that promote wellness and empower students. The Cox Center provides health, counseling and health promotion services.

  • Health services are provided by a staff of nurse practitioners, a collaborating physician, and nurses at the Cox Center at 104 W. Scott Lane. Students can receive preventive care and/or treatment for urgent or ongoing conditions, e.g., viral illness advice, flu vaccines, and reproductive care. The Cox Center serves as a primary care center for students, who can call, email or message through their student health portal for an appointment.
  • Counseling services are provided to meet the mental health needs of our students by licensed independent counselors, a psychologist, and a psychiatrist. Students can self-refer for concerns of an academic, emotional, personal and/or social nature, and work with a counselor to determine treatment goals. The Cox Center team follows confidentiality practices as required by law, but can collaborate with campus partners with student permission. In addition, students have access to TELUS Health for 24/7 mental health support.
  • Health promotion services include programming, events and environmental strategies provided across campus that support student wellness, including engaging activities for students to relieve stress, alcohol and cannabis education, well-being sessions within courses, and peer educator-led initiatives.

The Career Development Office (CDO), located in Chalmers Library, provides a suite of resources and programs designed to guide students in exploring and achieving their professional goals. The CDO encourages students to engage as early as their first year at Kenyon.

Faculty members are key partners in this effort. Through collaboration with your department's CDO liaison, faculty can access valuable resources such as aggregated employment outcomes of alumni, request tailored in-class presentations, or explore innovative ways to integrate career education into the academic program. Contact your liaison to start a conversation on how we can support your students' professional development.

The Office of Communications produces content for Kenyon’s many and varied audiences — from the campus community to prospective students and their families, alumni and parents, journalists and other interested members of the public. In all activities, the office seeks to communicate the relevance, value and distinction of a Kenyon education and strengthen ties to the institution.

The office manages Kenyon’s website and primary social media accounts, produces marketing materials, publishes the Kenyon Alumni Magazine and several digital newsletters, curates an extensive collection of photography and videography, and prepares news stories for the Kenyon community and the media. Communications staff have expertise in branding and marketing, web and social media strategy, writing and editing, graphic and publication design, photography and videography, media relations and crisis communications. The office mentors several student interns and works closely with academic and administrative departments to authentically and compellingly promote the College, its people and its programs.

Official printed and electronic stationery templates, Kenyon-branded presentation templates in both Google Slides and PowerPoint formats, and a series of brand user guides are available on the Office of Communications webpage.

Early reservation is recommended to ensure the appropriate vehicle is available; a minimum of 7 days' notice is required.

To drive a College vehicle, members must complete an online course (see the webpage, Becoming a Kenyon Authorized Driver, for more information). A road test must also be successfully passed to drive a 12-passenger van. Vehicles are checked out at the Campus Safety office located in Gund Commons.

Please see the staff handbook for the requirements for a driver’s license, driving record check and use of a College vehicle.
