Over the course of Kenyon’s 200 years, we have always had students who have finished their course of study by the end of the Fall term. Due to the widespread impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of students who finished outside the traditional 8-semester journey has been significantly higher. From 2021 through 2024, Kenyon will host a December Senior Recognition Ceremony.
Beginning in December 2025, Kenyon will return to its previous practice of sponsoring a private luncheon where seniors who have completed all of their course of study requirements by the last day of exams will be recognized. This does not necessarily including the completion of their Senior Capstone.
Each senior will be encouraged to invite a faculty or staff member to celebrate with them. The luncheon will include remarks from the provost, vice president of student affairs and the president to acknowledge the students' work and achievements.
Representatives from the Office of Campus Events and the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement will also invite these seniors to return for the May Commencement ceremony and share how they can continue their involvement as Kenyon alumni.
