All full-time Kenyon students must be covered by a health insurance plan in compliance with the Affordable Care Act. Kenyon's comprehensive health insurance program features both accident-only insurance and ACA-compliant optional student health insurance. Beginning with the 2024-25 academic year, student health insurance coverage will be through Aetna Student Health. To access 2023-24 or prior claim information, please log in to your Wellfleet student account.
Optional Student Health Insurance
All students are included in and billed for an ACA-compliant health insurance plan managed by Aetna, unless coverage has specifically been waived.

Policy Period: Coverage begins on August 15, 2024, and will continue through August 14, 2025.

Annual Cost: The annual cost of the Optional Student Health Insurance is $1,911 for 2024-25.
Billing
The annual fee of $1,911 will be charged one time each academic year on the fall semester tuition and fees billing statement. If you waive coverage, you will receive a credit to your student account. If you do not waive the coverage by the waiver date, you will be responsible for payment.
Waivers
- Required documentation to waive insurance: You must provide proof of other Affordable Care Act-compliant coverage to waive coverage.
- Deadline to waive insurance: August 15, 2024. If you have other comparable insurance coverage and you do not wish to enroll in the optional health insurance plan offered by the College, you must complete Aetna's online waiver form no later than August 15, 2024.
- How to waive insurance: Complete a waiver or enroll at aetnastudenthealth.com. Click on the Enroll/Waive button and enter your Student ID number and birthdate to access the Enroll/Waive form. The waiver period begins July 1, 2024, and ends on August 15, 2024.
- International students: College policy does not permit international students with F-1 and J-1 status to waive the Optional Student Health Insurance unless the family holds U.S. employer provided health insurance meeting federal ACA requirements. International students who are out of the country during the fall 2024 semester will be required to enroll in the plan if they return to campus for the spring 2025 semester.
