XII. Parenting and Pregnancy
A. Accommodations for Employees
Employees and prospective employees or applicants may request reasonable accommodations related to pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions. The College will provide reasonable accommodations for pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, unless the requested accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the College. The College will review the requested accommodation and engage in an interactive process regarding the request. The College will not take retaliatory action against any individuals who requests or receives an accommodation for pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical reasons.

B. Accommodations for Students
Students may request reasonable modifications related to pregnancy or related conditions. Student Accessibility Support Services (“SASS”) will review requests for accommodation on a case-by-case basis.

C. Lactation Spaces
The College has provided a location in Chalmers Library, room 435, for reasonable breaks for students and employees, both exempt and non-exempt, to express breast milk for one year after the child’s birth. The location in Chalmers, 435 is not a bathroom, is shielded from view, and free from intrusion to express breast milk.
Any employee who wishes to request a lactation space other than Chalmers 435 should contact Mary Spence, assistant director for Human Resources. Any student who wishes to request a location space other than Chalmers 435 should contact Ruthann Daniel-Harteiss, director of Student Accessibility and Support Services.
