What are the program dates?
June 8 - 27, 2025.
What are the eligibility requirements?
The program is open to motivated and socially mature rising junior and senior high school students. Because of number of applications, admission is highly selective. It is based primarily on the student's application essay, high school transcript, teacher or counselor's recommendation.
What is the program format?
Two sessions are held over the three-week period, one for rising juniors and one for rising seniors. Juniors will take courses in U.S. history and creative writing, and seniors will take neuroscience and African American history or physics and religion. Each class will meet for three hours each weekday. In addition, all students will take a studio art class, twice a week.
How does housing work?
Participants live in Kenyon residential halls. The men will stay in one dorm and women in another. Careful supervision is provided by the director, staff and residential assistants. Each student will be provided with a set of linens on arrival and at the mid-point of the program.
What do students do for fun?
Recreation time is scheduled for students each night. Activities include scavenger hunts, kickball, nature walks, and discussions with college students about college life. Weekends offer opportunities to go to the movies, dance, play pool or ping pong, and more. We will also produce a newsletter, a yearbook and the "no-talent" talent show.
How much does the program cost?
Camp 4 is a three-week program. The program fee, which includes tuition, accommodations, meals, and activities is $3500. Travel costs to/from Kenyon are not included in the program fee.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. Kenyon is committed to socioeconomic diversity and financial aid is available for students who demonstrate financial need as part of their Camp 4 application.
What are Kenyon's COVID-19 guidelines?
With the expiration of the COVID-19 public health emergency in May 2023, and in light of updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in August 2024, Kenyon has transitioned to treating COVID-19 as one of several endemic infections that can spread rapidly through local populations.
