Books added this year to the Kenyon Authors Collection in Chalmers Library.
A special ceremony honoring authors at the College who had works published recently took place Tuesday in Chalmers Library.
A total of 17 writers were recognized for their work, which included editing and translating. Their 25 works — nearly all of them published in 2024 — have been added to the Kenyon Authors Collection at the library. The books take the form of everything from poetry to memoir to commentary and more.
President Julie Kornfeld, speaking at this week’s event, saluted the authors for the breadth and scope of their work, which covers a wide spectrum of the liberal arts and sciences.
“Our faculty and staff may be small in number, but the incredible scholarly and artistic work that you produce reverberates around the world, “ she said. “We are a College that prioritizes strong, clear communication. … and what I love about Kenyon is that this is true no matter what subject you study.”
The following faculty members and staff were honored at this year’s Kenyon Authors Celebration:

Jean Blacker H’12, professor emerita of French, authored “Arthur, Origins, Identities and the Legendary History of Britain” and wrote an introduction and notes for Glyn S. Burgess's translation of Wace's “Roman de Brut.”

Alex Brostoff, assistant professor of English, co-translated “Ancestral Future” by Ailton Krenak.

Frances Cannon, Mellon Science and Nature Writing Fellow, authored “Fling Diction.”

Simone Dubrovic, professor of Italian, edited “Fellini/Trubbiani: E la nave va (1983-2023).”

P.F. Kluge ’64 H’20, former writer-in-residence, authored “Wordman.”

Rebecca Lloyd Waller, associate professor of philosophy, co-edited a translation of “Ethics” by Benedict de Spinoza.

David Lynn ’76 P’14 H’23, professor emeritus of English and editor emeritus of the Kenyon Review, and Daniel Laskin, former publications director for the Office of Communications, co-edited “Place and Purpose: Kenyon at 200.” Tom Stamp ’73 H’22, retired College historian and keeper of Kenyoniana, served as associate editor.

David Lynn ’76 P’14 H’23, professor emeritus of English and editor emeritus of the Kenyon Review, authored “Rebuilding the Goat Walk: An Eco-Memoir.”

Rosemary O’Neill, professor of English, co-edited “Beer and Brewing in Medieval Culture and Contemporary Medievalism.”

Víctor Rodríguez Núñez P’13 ’27 H’24, professor emeritus of Spanish, and Katherine Hedeen P’13 ’27, professor of Spanish, authored and translated, respectively, “midnight minutes” and “despegue/departure.” They also co-translated “Una con otras” by C.D. Wright; “Los proverbios del limbo” by Robert Pinsky; “El camino dificil” by Christos Koukis; “Las habitaciones” by Zoë Skoulding; and “Los huesos cantan” by James Byrne.
