Michael Coppage is a conceptual artist who uses an interdisciplinary, dialectical approach to address social issues surrounding race and language, and works in video, photography, installation, sculpture and painting.
Coppage has received the Ohio Arts Council’s Individual Excellence Award, Awesome Foundation grants in New York and Philadelphia and was a three-time recipient of Artswave’s Black and Brown Truth and Reconciliation grant. His work is exhibited nationally, including the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, the ArtsCrawl Harlem on Governors Island in New York and multiple public works installations.
