Join Kenyon Asian Identities (KAI) for their annual night market! Get a taste of cross-cultural street food in the Gund Commons Ballroom from 7 - 9 p.m. on Friday, April 18.
The market is based on traditional Asian open-air bazaars that contain entertainment, street food and shopping. Originating in China during the Tang Dynasty and spreading throughout the continent from there, night markets gained in worldwide popularity after World War II. They are known for their chaotic, busting crowds, bright colors and array of delectable smells.
The KAI Night Market will feature stalls from Sisterhood, ¡Adelante!, South Asian Society, Black Student Union, Men of Color, Multicultural Identities Organization, and Eastern European Club. Food options will include cong you bing (Chinese savory flatbread), pork belly, tteokbokki (Korean spicy rice cake), fresh fruit, tanghulu (Chinese candied fruit skewer), mango lassi (Indian yogurt smoothie) and burek (Eastern European and Middle Eastern savory pastry).
