Kenyon celebrates the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with our annual Day of Dialogue. The program highlights King’s legacy and connects it to current issues that affect the campus and the world.

The program begins at 9 a.m. with a celebration breakfast in Peirce Hall's Thomas Hall (New Side), in partnership with Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Knox County community members. The breakfast will feature a keynote address, "The Courage to Pursue Justice and Equality," by Dr. Judy Alston.

The breakfast is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

  • 9 a.m. Welcome, followed by an opening prayer
  • 9:10 a.m. Reflections by Matthew Starr, mayor of Mount Vernon, and Leeman Kessler, mayor of Gambier
  • 9:20 a.m. Reflections by Dr. Carson Castleman, president of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and Dr. Julie Kornfeld, president of Kenyon College
  • 9:30 a.m. Keynote address by Rev. Dr. Judy Alston
  • 10 a.m. Benediction followed by closing remarks
  • 10:10 a.m. Lift Every Voice and Sing
  • 10:20 - 11 a.m. Networking and fellowship
