Join the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion of Kenyon for a lecture in recognition of LGBTQ+ Health Awareness Week.
This year, our lecture will be delivered by Mimi Rivard (she/her), who is the director of gender affirming care at Equitas Health in Columbus, Ohio. Mimi will be discussing both her lived experiences and her career in relation to LGBTQ+ affirming healthcare from the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic to today.
Mimi Rivard is a nurse practitioner with over 30 years of experience in serving marginalized populations. She spent the bulk of her career working in urban settings with individuals living with HIV and AIDS. Her areas of expertise include end of life/palliative care, HIV care and gender affirming health care. She has consulted nationally and internationally offering her expertise in these areas. At Equitas Health, Mimi developed the model of gender affirming care, and she works toward collation building among providers, increasing competency in gender affirming care (work force development), and advocacy for people of trans experience. Mimi also maintains a robust practice providing gender affirming and HIV care.
