The annual Great Mohican Pow-Wow will be held at the Mohican Reservation Campgrounds in Loudonville over three days from September 16-18. This is the  37th year that this Pow-Wow has been held at this site along the Mohican River. The Pow-Wow features dance and drumming contests, professional storytellers, musicians, over 40 artisans, craftsmen, and traders selling their goods, an array of food vendors, as well as demonstrations in survival skills and tomahawk throwing.

All vendors selling Native American items must follow the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990, dancers and drummers also are members of a federal tribe in the U.S. or have Indian Status in Canada.

Kenyon faculty will again be operating a booth selling Pow-Wow merchandise this year, and all proceeds are donated back to the Pow-Wow organizing committee. The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion will be sponsoring the first, second, and third place prizes in the drum contest, which will be awarded before the close of ceremonies on Sunday, Sept. 18.

A bus will be available for all interested students, faculty, and staff to attend Sunday's events at the Pow-Wow. Kenyon will provide transportation to and from the event, departing campus at 11:45 a.m. and returning at 6 p.m. Admission will be paid for attendees and lunch stipends will be provided.

Complete this form by September 15 to sign up and reserve a space on the bus. Seating may be limited. Questions about the Pow-Wow can be directed to Sara Pfaff at pfaff1@kenyon.edu.
