Join the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) for a series of events celebrating Global Engagement Week, Oct. 21 - 25. Global Engagement Week is a week of programming that features intercultural, international or globally-minded activities that are open to students, faculty, staff and community members with diverse interests and experiences.

Schedule of Events

Monday, Oct. 21 

  • Cricket Match, hosted by the South Asian Society
    7 p.m., Toan Track, Lowry Center. Open to all skill levels; no experience needed.

Tuesday, Oct. 22

  • Global Grati-Tuesday, hosted by the dean of student development
    11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Borden Atrium, Peirce Hall. Reflect on how you’ve learned about the world as a member of the Kenyon community. Featuring international stickers and snacks!

  • Off-Campus Study (OCS) and Your Career, hosted by the Career Development Office (CDO) and CGE
    Common Hour, Oden Hall 110. Learn how to market your OCS experience during the job search! There will be prizes and snacks. 

  • Kenyon Translates, hosted by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures (MLL)
    Common Hour, Ascension Hall 220. A public reading of student translations with light refreshments sponsored by KCCDF.

  • Zumba, hosted Kenyon Fitness & Recreation
    4:30 - 5:15 p.m., Lowry Center 221. No experience needed; sign up in the KenyonFit app.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 

  • Vietnamese Lacquer Painting (Sơn Mài) Workshop, hosted by Chau Vu ‘26
    5 p.m., Hoehn-Saric House (CGE). All supplies will be provided, and open to all skill levels. Space is limited and registration is required: sign up here.

Thursday, Oct. 24 

  • Francophone OCS Returnee Panel, hosted by MLL
    Common Hour, Ascension Hall 220. Returning students will share their experiences at a variety of Francophone OCS programs around the world.

  • Eastern European Kitchen, hosted by the Eastern European Club
    5 - 7 p.m., Hoehn-Saric House (CGE). Join us for an exciting evening of authentic Eastern European cuisine!

Friday, Oct. 25 

  • Scaffolding the Open: Transforming an International Studies Course Using Open Pedagogy, hosted by Shanna Hart, the scholarly communications librarian, and Chalmers Library
    Common Hour, Zoom (please register here). Talk by Hilary Bussell, associate professor in the Ohio State University Libraries Research & Education Division.
