The Faculty Lectureships Series welcomes Beronda Montgomery, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college at Grinnell, writer and scientist, to campus. Previously she held a faculty position at Michigan State University where she worked as a leading plant biochemist and scholar on mentoring ecosystems. Her scholarly work focuses on STEM mentoring ecosystems using evidence-based strategies to foster equity and inclusion across higher education.

This presentation will discuss a holistic model of mentoring — one in which it is thought of "as a place of collaborative learning and reciprocal cultivation" instead of uni-directional from mentor to mentee.

On Jan. 25, Montgomery will also speak at 4:10 p.m. in Higley Auditorium.
