The Kenyon community is invited to celebrate the new academic year with a feast of local bounty. On Thursday, Aug. 29, our annual picnic along Middle Path will return from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m., pending weather conditions.

  • Dine on delicious local foods (with vegetarian/vegan options) from AVI
  • Try your hand at fun crafts, sponsored by the Brown Family Environmental Center, the Center for Global Engagement and the Ombuds Office
  • Play yard games, sponsored by the Department of Athletics, Fitness and Education
  • Destress by coloring, sponsored by the Kenyon Interfaith Partnership
  • Grab a “zing ring” and hand fan from the Office of Campus Events (while supplies last)
  • Have you ever wanted a 2017 Family Weekend shirt? What about a rubber duck? Stop by a flea market, sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement
  • Enter a raffle to win a free bike from the Bike Barn, sponsored by the Office of Community Partnerships
  • Visit the Gund Gallery to make buttons, tour their new exhibitions and participate in their gallery scavenger hunt
  • Register to vote in Ohio with the Center for the Study of American Democracy

Tables and chairs will be set up on the lawns west of Middle Path from Rosse to Cromwell. We’ll have some “picnic blankets” available, but please feel free to bring your own blankets or chairs. Faculty and staff are welcome to bring their families.

Please reach out to events@kenyon.edu with any questions.

The Peirce Hall servery will be closed after lunch. There will be no extendo, and dinner will only be served at Community Feast.

If there is inclement weather, dinner will be moved back to Peirce Hall, and only students will be able to attend.
