The Kenyon community is invited to celebrate the new academic year with a feast of local bounty. On Friday, Sept. 9, our annual picnic along Middle Path will return from 5 - 8 p.m. (rain or shine).

  • Feast on burgers, pulled chicken, local vegetables, Amish pies and more (with vegan options, of course)*
  • Enjoy a concert performed by the Symphonic Wind Ensemble
  • Play yard games provided by the Office of Student Engagement and Department of Athletics, Fitness, and Recreation
  • Grab a “zing ring” from the Office of Campus Events (while supplies last)
  • Register to vote with the Center for the Study of American Democracy
  • Visit the Gund Gallery and check out their new exhibitions “Sculpture as Verb” and “Suzanne Bocanegra: Valley”

Tables and chairs will be set up along Middle Path between Ascension Hall and the Church of the Holy Spirit and on the accompanying lawns. We’ll have some “picnic blankets” available, but please feel free to bring your own blankets and/or chairs.

Faculty and staff are welcome to bring their families. Please reach out to events@kenyon.edu with any questions.

*The Peirce Hall servery will be closed for dinner.

Please note: The individual activities listed above are subject to change/cancellation pending staffing availability, etc.
