Why do we have this world of books and not any other? Why are these the books topping Amazon’s lists or sitting prominently on the shelves at Barnes & Noble and our local independent bookstores?

In this talk, Dan Sinykin will discuss how the conglomeration of the publishing industry led to the dominance of romantasy, among other current book trends.

Dan Sinykin is an associate professor at Emory University.

Please join us in the Community Foundation Theater, located in the Gund Gallery, on Thursday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. After the talk, a reception with Dan Sinykin will take place in Lentz House.

Co-sponsored by the Department of American Studies, Program in Computing, Kenyon Campus Community Development Fund and the Kenyon Review.
