"Shadow Doesn't Ask" is a new "little" publication at Kenyon College that operates within the institutional shadows. In the tradition of so-called little magazines, it seeks to go against the grain of established publishing norms in the perpetual pursuit of daringness, experimentation, and discovery [...] We envision our decidedly interdisciplinary publication as a means to explore, through collective action and participatory community building, the ongoingness of poetic and artistic practice rather than treating literary publications as institutional vitrines designed to showcase polished products and writerly personae of sprezzatura and expertise. We wish to dispel the authorial aura of prestige that is meant to halo finished poems in "top tier" publications.

Indeed, it is practice and process all the way down.
