Yuki Ishida joined the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Kenyon College in 2023. Her research explores the role of translation in the formation of both modern Japanese literature and the discourse surrounding literary modernity, with a special focus on Russian–Japanese translation. Prior to Kenyon, she was a lecturer and postdoctoral research scholar in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University.
