Janet Lape Marsden joined Kenyon College in April 2017. As the College's chief communications officer, she has the good fortune to direct the strategic positioning of one of America's liberal arts gems. She seeks to tell Kenyon's story in clear and compelling ways so that the power of a Kenyon education has the broadest possible reach.
Marsden leads an award-winning creative team in the Office of Communications, overseeing branding, marketing, media and public relations for Kenyon. She works closely with colleagues across the College to advance Kenyon's student recruitment, retention, fundraising and alumni relations priorities.
Prior to joining Kenyon, Marsden served on the leadership team of Bennington College, most recently as vice president for communications. She held a range of editorial roles at Storey Communications, including managing editor for its custom publishing division. She began her career in the corporate communications division of International Paper Company. She earned a B.A. in literature and political science from Wellesley College.
