What is Early Aid Assessment?
This program helps you understand your potential financial aid package before you formally commit to Early Decision. This way, you can make an informed decision about Kenyon with a clearer picture of your finances.
Who is eligible?
This program is open to residents of the United States and U.S. citizens living abroad who are considering Early Decision.
Here's how it works:
- Complete the Common Application or Coalition App.
- Submit the Early Aid Assessment Request Form online.
- Submit your high school transcript. You may also provide ACT/SAT test scores if you want us to consider test scores for admission.
- If applying for need-based aid, submit the CSS Profile. To receive an estimated aid package, all biological/adoptive parents, regardless of current marital status will need to submit the CSS Profile application. Helpful information for parents is available at https://cssprofile.collegeboard.org/profile-for-parents.
- Receive your Early Aid Assessment: We'll provide a personalized estimate of your potential need-based and merit-based aid within two weeks of receiving all materials.
- Make your decision to apply Early Decision: With a clearer understanding of your financial aid options, you can confidently decide whether to submit your Early Decision agreement by the early decision application deadline.
Important notes:
- Results of the Early Aid Assessment are for planning purposes only and do not constitute a formal offer of financial aid or admission to Kenyon.
- Need-based aid estimates are based on the information you provide. We encourage you to submit verification documents (2023 parent tax returns and W2 forms to receive a more accurate assessment). Significant changes in your family's financial situation may require adjustments.
- Still have questions? Don't hesitate to reach out to your admissions counselor!
- Not ready for Early Decision yet? You can still get a preliminary sense of affordability using MyIntuition or our Net Price Calculator.
International Applicants
- Kenyon meets 100% of demonstrated need for international students who are admitted. Financial aid packages at Kenyon comprise mostly grant assistance, however, a part of meeting need will include some student loans and employment.
- International students are expected to have a minimum family contribution of approximately $3,000 to cover travel to the United States and personal expenses, so there are no full scholarships available at Kenyon.
- Kenyon is need aware with respect to admission. Being admitted as an international student requiring financial aid is very competitive. Less than 5% of international applicants who required need-based financial aid were admitted during the last cycle.
- Merit aid is not combined with need-based aid for international applicants. If you do not require need-based aid and want to receive an early aid assessment ONLY for merit aid, please contact your admissions counselor to submit a request for evaluation.
