In addition to a major, the department offers two minors, in physics and astronomy, and together with the mathematics department is a major contributor to an interdisciplinary program in scientific computing.
The department also offers courses designed for non-science majors, including astronomy and geology. Students help staff Kenyon's observatory, which features a CCD-equipped, computer-controlled, fourteen-inch Celestron telescope. Kenyon also offers 3-2 programs in engineering with Case Western Reserve University, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Washington University.
